Home / Custom / Photo Restoration / Photo Montage / Painted / Alternative Backgrounds / Place / Scenic Customs: Photo Restoration & Sepia Tone Painting / Sepia Tone / Color / Montages Old photos of special moments or events will significantly degrade over the years. Once restored and printed with archival inks and acid-free materials, they will last and be available for future generations. The traditional finish used in many older photos (before full color was available) was sepia tone, adding warmth to the final image.

The above photo of the Oberon Restaurant was taken in 1908 by photographer, A. E. Erickson. Most of the detail was either missing or quite faded. We increased the contrast in each area, removed the noise (dirty spots), re-created detail where it was missing and added a sepia tone.

The finished 16" x 20" image was produced on canvas. Our restoration can be seen at the new Oberon Grill which opened in August , 2008. Prints on canvas are available at Natural Selection, 203 F Street, Eureka.
