On the water planet, Earth, water is the potent symbol of the Feminine archetype. Water, from the beginning, is the womb of all life, the receiver of the masculine fire, calming and cooling, yet containing the spark of new life. Water is the mother, the nurturer, the lover; and, in a
stormy moment, she will destroy some of what she has created. She is the essential "element."
